Chinese Folk
Art is pleased to provide these silk embroidered peasant pictures, the
latest product to use Jinshan Peasant Painting designs. The pictures
are handmade by women working in Suzhou, the city which gave birth to China's
silk culture.
The process for making these pictures
uses both traditional and high-tech methods. First, an artist at
the Jinshan Academy of Peasant Paintings paints the picture that will be
embroidered. Then, the painting is photographed, and the photo is
scanned. The resulting image is used to form a pattern for the embroidery,
and then the artist in Suzhou creates the picture, using silk thread on
a silk background. The picture is matted and framed.
Details
Please read
the following carefully:
-
No two pictures
are exactly alike.
Colors vary, and so do other small aspects of the embroidery. Some
pictures are double matted, while others are single matted. The mat
colors also vary.
-
Each picture's dimensions are 4 5/8
x 4 5/8 inches (11.8 x 11.8 cm)
-
Each frame's dimensions are 11 1/8 x
11 1/8 inches (28.3 x 28.3 cm)
-
The frame is made of a hard plastic
that looks very much like wood.
-
The frame styles vary some, but all
look like a light-colored wood.
-
The "glass" is actually a lightweight,
non-glare plastic.
-
The pictures come packed in a padded
gift box.
-
Each picture shown below costs $60.
-
Be sure to check to see if the picture
you want is "in stock" or not.
-
While you're welcome to re-frame
the pictures once you receive them, we only sell them framed.
Designs
Chinese Folk Art tries to keep the
following seventeen designs in stock (or on order, when not in stock),
but other designs are available. Generally speaking, you may choose any
Jinshan peasant paintings and ask that it be used to create an embroidered
picture; special orders like this cost
$80,
take two to three months to arrive, and are not returnable unless defective.
We also ask that you pay in advance. If you're thinking about having
a special order made, please email Chinese
Folk Art to discuss your preferences.
